I am in the process of cleaning out the fabric end of things to sell here on our website. I'm starting with some patterns I recently acquired, some vintage and some not so much... costumes, doll clothes and doll furnishings. I will also be adding the patterns in my file cabinet that have or have not been used by me in the past. I will also be adding fabric, notions and trims a time allows. I hope to be able to sell it all here, rather than leave it for Hubby to have to donate to someplace when I am no longer here... he dreads that process enough.
You see, last fall, I had to have my right hip replaced due to the cancer eating away at the hip bone. In 2013, I had a titanium rod placed in that femur to stabilize it, but the hipbone gave way where it was attached and caused a major operation and rehabilitation. I still do not have full control of my foot actions and it hurts too much to sit up to use the machine, so I won't be making any more doll clothes or other such things. I will be making Rosie the Riveter scarves along with some others involved in the SAVE THE BOMBER PLANT Campaign at Willow Run, (we're going for our third Guinness World Book Record on Oct 14 2017)...
So, just in case anyone had wondered why we have no new inventory, this is the reason. We are really hoping to be able to sell out our inventory and our supplies to help with our expenses. Cancer is never timely, and we know that one day it will take me. We are doing our best to be ready for that day. At present, it is in many of my bones, my liver, my lungs, and as a result of the surgery; I had to go on blood thinners when blood clots were discovered in my lungs in January on my CT Scans. I am now dealing with digestive disorders (GERD we believe- will see GI doc end of July to confirm) as a result of the treatment for the clotting. It's a never ending cycle! Yet, I remain hopeful and strong... and my faith will not dwindle.
I've turned my focus now onto scrapbooks for my grandchildren, whom this year will be 12 and 19. It does not seem possible, but they have grown so fast, where does the time go? I've spent many hours on Shutterfly and organizing my photos, I think I'm gonna have to have several for them, like one for every few years or something! LOL Goodness there are tons of beautiful photos of them, I can't bear to leave any out! And, what to do with the videos of them? When they look back on these with their children, what format will still be in use? I'm thinking a flash drive to stick in the books, but ... what if they are no longer usable in 20 years? That would not be good... Oh well, I can only do so much, right? ;)
Anyway, keep an eye out on the store page, under CRAFTING SUPPLIES for our supplies inventory sale... and as with everything we sell, 30% of the sale will benefit Metastatic Breast Cancer Research via METAVIVOR.ORG .
Please, pass this along to anyone you know that sews or crafts... or anyone that needs doll clothes for 15 or 18 inch dolls... we still have a nice selection of items in the store for them as well as our custom jewelry! Shipping w/in the USA is FREE on any order under 13 oz, anything larger is only charged the difference between first class and Priority Mail (which is required on parcels over 13 oz now w/ the USPS).
God Bless and I hope to be in contact again soon!
