Meanwhile, Teri is working on creating something different.... a vintage golfers outfit for a Ventriloquist Dummy named Archie.... He is roughly the size of a 22 inch doll so that is the pattern we are using for him... so far, we have the shirt and sweater vest done. Need to finish his knickers and spats for his shoes, then his newsboy style hat. Then it will be on to making an American Girl Girlscouting Brownies uniform for a little lady in Florida. Nothing like being creative to keep me going around here! We are waiting on photos from on of the participants from our weekend in the Ypsilanti Heritage Festival to post about that awesome experience.... Stay tuned and for now..... #ENJOYLIFE!!
It's now August and we just concluded our CHRISTMAS IN JULY SALE at our ETSY store. Sadly, we only had 2 basic orders, but we also got a special order request for some University of Michigan doll apparel and hanging bag socks. One of the orders we received we decided to make a donation item for the recepient, a young girl of 7 with spitzoid melanoma. Her Aunt contacted me on Facebook in a group I am part of (Original Craft Creators) and told me she was doing well after her surgery, but her hearts desire was to have some clothing for her American Girl doll. Her Aunt selected a few items from our webstore, which she got at 30% off with our #CIJ2014 Sale and I told her I wanted to make something special for her and her doll. We discussed what her favorite colors and things were an decided on matching nightgowns... Pink and ladybugs were the fav's for this little warrior...
I found the perfect pattern... matching stretch cotton nighties, with matching sleep masks... Having been in the hospital recently myself, I know that sleep is difficult when the doctors & nurses keep coming in and turning the lights on & off...so the sleep mask will be a definite plus if she has to go back to the hospital for any overnight stays, or just to be able to nap during the day if she is not feeling well. I think I'm gonna make one for myself while I'm at it!
All of the items are now completed and just been washed & pressed and are ready to ship out. I wanted to share my special items here since they won't be on our webstore. The patterns of course, can be used with any fabric, but these are near and dear to my heart, as they are for such special little girls. The Grand daughters of my former Room-mate & best friend from 30 years ago, and this precious little warrior named McKinley.
As we laid our friend Rob to rest on Friday, after losing his battle with Lung cancer, that had metastasized to his brain, it makes me feel good to have the ability to bring some joy to a fellow warrior, something to hopefully, help her feel better and find peace and joy in her life...
A life I hope is long and happy!
On another note... Hubby has been keeping busy making some new jewelry to add to our craft shows and our ETSY store. He is using his spent bullets and turning them into gorgeous earrings! We are in the process of getting these added to the ETSY store hopefully within the next week. They can have the rhinestone of your choice added, or be "stone free" showing just the brass. We are going to be dressing up the shell casing dangles with some bling as well... and maybe adding matching necklaces in the near future. First, we want to see how well these sell before adding much more to the line. He also makes Crawler Harness Fishing Lures, Fishing Lure Spoon earrings and guitar pick earrings for those that want to show off their lobes in style!

I love to create things. Mostly, things made for the little ones in our lives, but also for the bigger kids and adults as well. I sew, scrapbook, create floral displays, make beaded jewelry and tote bags,... just about anything except freehand painting or drawing. I love to create great food as well, so on occasion, I will be sharing some great dishes and recipes.
